As a young teenager, I remember thinking Sigourney Weaver in Alien 3 and Linda Hamilton in Terminator 2 were supposed to be unattractive and manly.
Adult me looks back on that boy and shakes his head.

Easily the worst Alien movie of the franchise, with Resurrection not far behind (I liked it better, some will disagree). I don’t blame Sigorney of course, or really the director. But its release coincided with the fall of the Soviet Union, and the original script of “space commies and evil corporations fight it out over trying to control the xenomorphs, with the good guys stuck in the middle” sounded outdated and untimely to the producers. Dang idjits… its movie we were always asking for, and its nice to see them frame the new series around a similiar plot line.
