This is how the cosmetic correction of a child with Crouzon syndrome was done. He even showed significant improvement in vision and breathing afterward. Crouzon syndrome is a rare genetic condition where the bones in the skull fuse too early, a process known as craniosynostosis.

Why is a procedure considered cosmetic if there are genuine medical improvements (like vision and breathing) as a result?

    2. This syndrome is horrendous, imagine outgrowing your scull. Those poor kids. The operations are incredible, but just imagine the pain to go through reconstructing your scull several times. Luckily it looks like there is an emerging treatment based siRNA.

    3. That’s amazing! You’d never know looking at him now…Fantastic his quality of life improved internally as well.
