This mountain lion petroglyph, made by the Ancestral Puebloans and estimated to be 600 to 1,000 years old, was discovered in the 1930’s in the Blue Mesa area and is now on display in the Painted Desert Inn at the Petrified Forest National Park [3250×2323]

Nowadays it would be unthinkable to cut a petroglyph off the rock (on public land) where it was carved and move it into a private business. 1934 was a very different era.
