Doesn’t coast redwood have the record for having the tallest average height of tree in the world? You’re probably not gonna be able to keep that for long.

    2. Oh man I’d love to get a load of these and just start planting them in places that it’s gonna be an inconvenience in like 50 years.

Do they need very specific weather and soil conditions?

That’s incredible growth! The fact that it’s thriving in what I’m guessing is a container makes this even more impressive. Nature’s resilience is wild 🌱

    4. That reminds me, we planted one of these in my parents yard before they moved out, and that was like 20 years ago. Now I want to drive by and see if it’s still there.

    5. Out of curiosity, where would you actually plant a redwood tree? Anywhere within a few hundred feet of any building/house would cause a massive problem down the line.

So many little sprout off of our redwoods, I didn’t know you could take them like that without killing them. What a cool gift

honestly impressed you kept it alive. those gift shop tubes are usually just coffins for saplings.

    8. Classic, tons of upvotes for people saying they grow really fast AND people saying theygrow really slow.
