Thank you for the lovely comments and support from everyone! So I saw a lot of questions about both how I lost my eye, and wether it impacts my work as an illustrator.
It's hard for me to keep up with individual comments/threads, I try to limit screen time due to eye fatigue with my work as an illustrator and light sensitivity -but I'd live to answer those questions here.
So, my loss of depth perception cost me to lose the ability to work like I used to, and I had to re learn a few things with different techniques. The colour palettes, shading techniques and line work has changed a lot since vision loss, as my left eye was actually my strongest one.
I also struggle to cook, due to the same issue with depth perception and slicing stuff – don't want to lose a finger too lmaoo.
I would actually love to do a video about the difference in my art before and after vision loss!
But as for how I lost the eye, it was an unfortunate situation due to glaucoma caused by a medical error that was the result of a misdiagnosis and underlying health issues that people overlooked.

Is it loss? It’s loss.
Second post I’ve seen tonight with this older meme. Pregnancy test beat this by a few hours.
Losing depth perception and still adapting your art is honestly badass. That eye patch isn’t just funny it’s a symbol of resilience and creativity.
I also have lost the use of my left eye, technically its still there however my eyelid does not open unless I use my hand to open it, plus the eye is stuck looking in one direction.
This happened because of a pituitary tumor that grew around my optic nerve.
Be careful for curbs lol, with less depth perception its hard to see them.
Your eyepatch designs are very cool
So do you do commissions?
Reading your post, sounds like you need to pursue a lawsuit!
Over 9000?

So I’m about to lose a finger. Any chance you want to make finger nub art?!

Loss. I like your vibe, internet stranger.
Tic Tac Toe anyone?
So sorry about how preventable it sounded. Glad you are adjusting, though! Great attitude in an unfortunate loss.
I don’t have any questions, I just wanted to say this I’m kind of obsessed with your Stanley Park Ecology Team work 😍👏
Also, your furry_irl post about the reverse-furry character obsessed with humans had me in tears 😂

You’re a really strong person. I was diagnosed with MS and I feel for you with the life-changing event. Sometimes all you can do is laugh.

When people ask what happened to your eye; do you say, “it was fun and games?”
