I disliked Kamala Harris for leaning too centrist. I still voted for her and I don’t regret it.

Kamala (who I and almost every leftist that isn’t chronically online voted for) declined with almost every demographic group. Men, women, Hispanics, blacks, whites, independents

It was hardly the fault of the internet minority Elon and other websites blasted across their algorithms all election

But they had a point. She woefully disappointed her own base and still lost centrist support

    3. The_Nomadic_Nerd on

I voted for Harris, but this hating the left more than the right makes no sense to me.

I’m more mad at Harris for not coming out against a genocide, which is both the right thing AND THE SMARTER POLITICAL MOVE. While not voting is something that pisses me off, so much more anger should be towards Harris and the DNC.

    4. captstinkybutt on

Noooope. It’s the centrist moderate Dems voting to fund ICE rank and file with the Republicans.

      YOU did this to US.

    5. “Here’s a book of all the things we plan to do to fuck up the country and hurt everyone with a net worth under $25 million”

“Uh, that sounds bad, but that guy can’t stop shitting his pants so he gets my vote”

    6. It’s funny, the same people you’re criticizing were the ones calling for ICE to be abolished a long time ago. Maybe they were on to something.

    7. ReliquaryofSin on

Typical. Get mad at leftists, who are more ideologically on your side, rather than centrist Americans who didn’t vote.

If you think your biggest problem is the 1% who voted 3rd party and not the 38% who straight didn’t vote, then maybe you are as bad 🙄

    8. Fuck all the way off. I voted for Biden despite my reservations. He won and did what Democrats do and looky there we got Trump again. Dems are not any kind of bulwark against this. They’ve shown us then and the are showing us now by voting en masse to fund ICE.

I voted for Kamala out of desperation. Trying to say the Democrats are good just for being the “opposition” is bullshit. Democratic leadership is wholly ineffective and is barely in any way shape or form an opposition party. Many of them are funded by the same donors as the republicans. We need a Democratic revolution bad and we need it yesterday. I’m a democrat, but fuck the current party. We need the young progressive guns they’ve been suppressing to come out firing.

Make way! Make way! The Enlightened One speaks! Let us hear him speak of the Centrist things, like why ICE is really just misunderstood!

    11. wabashcanonball on

Both sides aren’t the same: Dems are marginally better, yet both sides are horrible; both these things are true.

    12. This anger needs to be pointed at our electoral system. Hilary Clinton won the 2016 election. Just not the right states. The only reason we are here today is because the system is rigged to uplift midwestern conservative voters. Coming from someone who voted for clinton, biden, and harris btw.

    13. What have the Dems done to stop this exactly? “Sowwie here’s more money”. Jeffries didn’t even whip votes against the ICE funding bill. The whole democratic leadership needs to be booted out, they are controlled opposition and the 8 morons who voted for the funding need to be ostracized and primaried.

Cool game. You just sprang my trap card: if yall didn’t fuck Bernie in the 2016 primary we’d be doing Star Trek society by now.

    15. Thereferencenumber on

Moderate democrats will see a shooting by right wing brown shirts and still find a way to kick progressives/leftists

    16. Its better to blame the voters than the dems that refused to denounce genocide. Should we vote for newsome who hung out with ben shapiro saying ice weren’t terrorist, just law enforcement?

    17. I heard way more of this from the enlightened centrist folks in 2024. My position was and still stands as:

“If you end up with a weak Democratic president who has no interest in actually fixing the material conditions that led to Donald Trump then the next time around you will end up with a more competent version of Trump”

I was saying this during the 2020 primary. I was right but you have numbnuts like OP over here who really still want to bury their head in the sand and lecture the left about how we shouldn’t try and push our will onto the Democratic Party. I defended Kamala in the general but we should all acknowledge that she was a bad candidate who had around 3% support in 2020. She had no business being Vice President and she was a horrible choice to swap in at the last minute in 2024.

    18. If you think thirty years of play it safe, punch left until election day, and then exclaim “you have no other choice, lefty” Why are you surprised the “Tankies” aka the base aren’t supporting you? Then show this open contempt to them? Fuck you, you’re just as big of a problem. Definition of insanity. Shit like this tells me that you at least realize the DNC corporate fan club and the liberals need to start communicating and working shit out, and something like this is the exact opposite of making that possible.

    19. It puts the Democrat in office or it gets the Republican again.

      ![gif](giphy|okDhQERwmlE1G)

    20. I didn’t WANT to vote Kamala Harris.

I voted Kamala Harris because this is exactly the Bullshit I was afraid of. Anybody who’s genuinely surprised this happened wasn’t paying any attention to current events.

    21. Both parties are party-centric: follow the party-line and to hell with the country. The democrats pushed Joe Biden out when he had the nomination sewed up. They wanted a woman president in the worst way, and they did the worst way to get one.theu pressured Biden to drop out of the race just a few weeks before the convention. Had they not held to the “she ***has*** to be elected,” stance Biden could have run, served a couple weeks in office, claimed the 25th amendment, and turned the presidency over to her. There’s enough people who don’t believe a woman can lead a country. They aren’t aware of world history.

That said, the push for a woman to be elected will be the downfall of the Democratic Party.

I still cast my ballot not so much for her, but against Trump. Apparently, the US doesn’t want a woman president. There is plenty of reason to choose her: she’d run the government as a government, not a business that she can just file bankruptcy on. She spent 2 decades in public service before running for president. The felon has not served a single day in public service to this day.

    22. I voted for Harris even though I wasn’t excited about her. Anything but a convicted felon and child rapist. I live in a red state though so my vote for president never counts.

    23. you guys are picking the wrong fight. leftists have been saying this was going to happen for years and liberals have downplayed it at best and facilitated it at worst. Kamala didn’t lose because an infinitesimal number of tankies didn’t vote hard enough. I’m not even one of them and even i can see that

    24. Man shutup, it’s not the left’s fault and equating them with tankies is borderline alt right talking points. You clearly have no idea what either is. Just shut the fuck up. Blame the left rather than people who voted for trump, or Dems super mishandling the election, or Biden taking forever to step down. There were an incredible amount of Google searches asking if Biden was still president THE DAY OF THE ELECTION. And yes, sitting this election out was stupid, but it’s STILL the Dems job to get people to vote for them.

    25. givemeyourbankdetail on

Blaming the only people trying to warn about this happening lmfao fucking dumbass

    26. Can you imagine if Obama had sent ICE to Republican controlled cities to harass and murder citizens?

    27. You have to realize that holding this opinion will only bring you more useless neoliberals who can’t win.

But please, continue taking the dumbest stance of all and expect a positive outcome.

    28. cascadianpatriot on

Ahh, yes, the American left. Or Shrodingers left. Too small for Dems to actually try one progressive policy, and so big it costs democrats every election and it’s their fault and theirs alone.

    29. BigHeadDeadass on

Maybe liberals shouldn’t vote with conservatives on unpopular and diabolical legislation like the increase in ICE funding hmmm
