Is this treehouse awesome or dumb?

    1. I’m torn. As a fun project, more power to you. As a “survive in the woods” scenario, he used an incredible amount of energy, we don’t see him making all the cuts, and he uses lots of materials he wouldn’t have (drill bits, window panes, etc). It certainly took talent and forethought though!

    2. looks like a dead tree which now has a lot of weight perched on top of it – I wonder if it has colapsed with him in it yet ?

    3. I highly doubt he did all that without power tools. Cool project and all but i think it’s been edited pretty heavily for engagement

When i see videos like these, i always think i can do it too. Until i tried to make one for the kids and it looked like absolute garbage 😂

i remember back in the day when you could be a kid, build tree huts without needing a apply and fill out 500 forms and own the property where the tree were situated. If you build one today, surely a Karen comes along and report it and within a day some goverment official comes and order you to tear it down. Anyway, that’s one cool treehut !

    6. If you’re in a survival situation, you: 1) won’t have the time to build that thing while still trying to get food and water and 2) are definitely not going to be carrying the requisite tool case for you to build that house. You might have, at best, a pocket knife/Swiss army knife or Leatherman. I say: find a good place to build a nice lean-to and worry about food, clean water, and figuring out how to get situated and out of there. Your goal isn’t to live there comfortably; your goal is to survive and get the hell out.

There seems to be a whole genre of “build primitive survival structure, make a meal” videos on YT. I find them weirdly entertaining. Maybe it calls back to childhood fantasies of living in the woods, a la “My Side of the Mountain.”

I was sort of ok with it until he added the clay and dirt, that’s a LOT of weight sitting on top of a dead tree.

Looks like a fun project. I wish I had the skills and time to do stuff like that.

won’t the mud based insulation be a problem when it rains? Won’t the fire be a problem when that dead tree dries out?

    11. Its cool but without stripping the bark off of those sticks in that environment the thing will rot and fall apart in a little over 1 year.

    12. Feeling Minecraft vibes…

He better hurry up. Darkness is coming and creepers will be out soon.

It’s not the question of,the smoke will kill you,
It’s not the question of, it’s great until the wood rots and you fall, break a leg and get eaten alive by a slow moving fat hungry bear because you couldn’t run away,,,,
      My question is,,,

      Where do you poo ?

    14. Hes making it for social media content and has no intention of ever using it beyond filming. So….

Bro made the floor muddy. Me: good now it’s fire proof for tha little wood burning stove he made. Nice.

Then bro covers the mud floor in wooden tiles. Me: Nevermind, it’s a fire hazard again

Very cool, but I won’t be carrying anything heavy on those stair treads. Put the coffee on, I’ll be right there.
