Margaret’s Book is a book written by painter Sir Edward Burne-Jones for his daughter Margaret. When his grand daughter Angela was born, he illustrated the book with 16 drawings for her. The dragon babies are a whimsical reinterpretation of the mythical creatures from his series of paintings, The Perseus Cycle. Pencil on paper, 1892

gosh, i love this image. the labels reading “hisstry school” and “jogruffy school” are adorable, and the dragons are too precious.
it reminds me of a series i’m currently reading – the first volume is titled “miss percy’s pocket guide to the care and feeding of british dragons.” it’s an excellent cozy fantasy, highly recommend if that’s your taste!
