This isn’t a “double standard”. This is actually a consistent world view. To quote Frank Wilhoit, “Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.” The Jan. 6 protesters are the in-group of white people that needs protecting by the very laws they flout while the anti-ICE protesters represent the out-group who must be crushed by laws as they are left exposed to violence and oppression. This is fascism exposing its true face in America.
