Technically they are right. If you put fatty foods on paper towel, some of that grease will wick away and you will consume a few fewer calories. But this is definitely weasel wording because I am sure these towels behave exactly like any others.

So I can finally enjoy a tub of lard without worrying about getting fat? Sign me up!

    3. When will the organic, free range, non GMO, gluten free, sustainably sourced version become available?

    4. But, but, it says RIGHT ON THE PACKAGE, *Developed for Food*…they wouldn’t lie, would they? …would they?¿?

Lmfao now businesses are really throwing shit at a wall and seeing what sticks. Any paper towel will absorb the fat/grease (calories) from fried foods. Are they charging more for these too?

If you’re worried about calories stop eating fried food for starters.

    6. If you’ve just fried something and put it on a paper towel, any paper towel, yeah it will absorb some oil which will slightly reduce the calories you’ll eat.

It’s just weird marketing though, a paper bag or wire rack could do the same, literally anything that wouldn’t leave fried food sitting in a pool of oil that drains off it would do it.

    7. I guess saying “designed to wick away oils from deep-fried food” just doesn’t have the same marking ring to it

Makes sense, grease is fat and calories.

When I cook bacon I put it on a paper towel and then dab it with another one and it takes a surprising amount of the grease away.

If these are engineered to actually soak up more grease and fats then yeah, I can understand how it sound stupid but it makes sense.

People need to understand. EVERYTHING that exists, HAS CALORIES. Even if it’s an abysmally small amount. Whether it’s toxic or harmful to us is a different matter. So by absorbing any fluid, the paper towels are *technically* absorbing calories, yes.

I’ve been eating these paper towels for years and I’m skinny as fuck now

“developed for food” is actually a key product element because you would want the towels to be food-safe, non-toxic, and not leave fibers on your food.
