I used to keep mine if I knew they were falling out. I had 7 in my collection at one point. After so many sets my left eardrum finally gave out, was replaced with skin from behind my ear, got another ear infection a year later, and now 30 years later I still have a hole where the tube was.

I had several sets of tubes when I was younger. One of the most bizarre things was my ears would just leak disgusting smelly puss all the time for years. Eventually it stopped.
