During April 1997 Big Van Vader and Undertaker where taking part of a WWF tour of Middle Eastern countries. One country that was involved in the tour was Kuwait and to promote the tour Van Vader and Undertaker appeared on a TV show called Good Morning Kuwait,both wrestlers where interviewed by Bassam Al Othman on the TV show. The interview got off to a rough start as Bassam asked Undertaker and Vader whether wrestling was fake or not.
Undertaker was a bit frustrated by this question but he gave a polite answer that went into some detail about Wrestling to explain the business, Van Vader did not go into detail when answering the question as he was angered by the question. Vader stood up, knocked over the coffee table in front of him and proceeded to grab Bassam by the tie and threaten him by asking Bassam “Why don’t come down tonight and before I kick his ass (undertaker) I’ll kick your ass”.
Due to Van Vader’s actions police where called to the studio and Van Vader was arrested whilst the TV show was airing on television. Vader was kept in a luxury hotel room instead of a jail for two weeks as punishment for the situation that he caused on Good Morning Kuwait, due to the incident WWF would acknowledge it a few weeks after it had happened by having WWF interviewer Jim Ross question Vader about the situation.
