Happened to me when I was a kid. Getting into car to go to school with my mother driving and sister riding up front. My mother asked me to shut the barn door. So I walk a few steps then for some reason decide to then shut the car door then go over to close the barn door. As I’m closing the barn door my mother drives off. I assumed they would come back in a few seconds but it was about 10 minutes because my mother didn’t realize until she got to the school and I wasn’t in the car. My sister knew the whole time. She just decided not to say anything..

Once we forgot a guy in the gas station in the middle of nowhere in January`s deep night. He went to toilet and didn`t take a phone and outerwear. Everyone in car were kinda sleepy so he spent about an hour there
