Tupper hat auch viel Müll produziert, den es bei der Konkurrenz günstiger und besser gibt.
Ausserdem ist das MLM-light Vertriebsmodell unangenehm und suspekt

There are other brands with similar quality. Its about prices and the way they sell their stuff. Who is going to meet somewhere when everybody buys online

Lmao it’s not like they’ve been in business for only a handful of years. All good things…

I still have Tupperware from the 70s man. I inherited it from my mom. Probably survive the nuclear war too.

The other issue is people don’t realize Tupperware is a brand. The name became synonymous with the product similar to Hoover and vacuum cleaners. That kind of helped kill their business

Tupperware went bankrupt because it was a pyramid sceme…

I am not an economist but If your business model to make money is solely selling your product, you are meant to bankrupt.
Diversifying and adding new sources of revenue would change that… maybe selling cleaning products for the tupper, limited editions, different materials and shapes that enable new cooking opportunities in the migro wave… I don’t know… I am no economist and only invested 30 seconds in thinking and writing this comment, but defo the problem was not the product quality, but the business model.

Toshiba laptops were built so well they had to exit the laptop market.

Not sure how Tupperware is sold in the US but what killed them here is not the quality or anything that has to do with the product but just that they thought it would be a good idea to only market them via an MLM.

We should do something to keep them afloat, set an example for the other companies.

I doubt Tupperware is going out of business for making TOO good of a product

This is the problem with capitalism. The system actively punishes making any actually good, long lasting products.

I literally use 60s Tupperware out of the cabinet it’s been in since it was new. We do have other containers in addition to these, but the original Tupperware is absolutely still in rotation.

Well they are not the best since a long time, if they had the best product and at least mid marketing they would not be dead… I the memes logic were correct no other brand would sell such shut too, but they do.

I think it’s because you can buy so many cheaper alternatives and they don’t provide much value anymore for the given price. The other thing is that Tupperware used to be a scheme that used normal people to sell their stuff at home.
