Suprised it didn’t get opened during the great toilet paper shortage of 2020

    2. Oh my, I remember when the package told you exactly how many sheets each roll was. It was clear from the information given just what you were getting.

18 rolls = 108 or some such garbage. Since it never tells you how many sheets equal a roll, just what the hell does that mean?

For me, it’s not about the price, it’s about feeling like I have some understanding of just what I am buying, and not feeling overwhelmed by the stupid misinformation on the package.

I found a pack of 1980s toilet paper in my grandpa’s attic when cleaning out his house last year – still sealed, same soft pink color and floral pattern. Wiped with one sheet out of curiosity and it held up fine, no crumbling or anything, just felt a bit thinner than modern stuff. Makes you realize how over-engineered today’s rolls are with all the quilting and thickness when basic ones lasted decades unused.

    4. Did they do toilet paper math 30 years ago?

There’s clearly only 4 rolls in the package but somehow it means there are 12 rolls?

    5. Toilet paper has been around for a very, very, very long time. But my grandmother made do with a Sears and Roebuck catalogue in her outhouse.

      That plastic looks pristine.

I have plastic-wrapped things that are much younger than that, and they’re wrinkled as shit.

I wonder when discoloration starts to show. Surprised it hasn’t already; unless it’s not made of organic material.
