    1. One of the more recent fascinating archaeological trends is discovering how many presumed exaggerations were not exaggerations. There have also been a few discoveries of human/child sacrifice that we long assumed were Roman exaggerations.

We’re really still exceptionally Romanized in our world view. We think back from so far in the future and imagine that they must have been lying because there is no way that so many civilizations could be so barbaric or violent, and it turns out that a lot of it is often just that our view on what is too barbaric and violent for civilized people is really just our view that civilized behavior is, secretly and unbeknownst to us, Roman behavior.

Why would they do that, they had plenty of horses. And isn’t human skin unsuitable for making leather? (Roose Bolton said so)

For a people who invented the brazen bull, leather made of human skin was too much for them?
