It is kind of bizarre.
If you actually talk to people, a lot of their personal politics actually align with leftist/socialist policies.
But then they have one key issue that’s a complete deal breaker and for a lot of people that’s “woke” and/or pro-immigration policies.
So they would rather vote in a way that’s hurting themselves while also hurting other people even more than vote in a way that benefits everyone.
