    1. White people in California definitely where prime contenders for most racist in the USA back in the day

      They flat out denied the right of other races to live within California

      Meanwhile in Hawaii, Japanese people made up ~80-90% of all workers and employees, so they literally couldn’t afford to intern all Japanese Americans (although Hawaii was under martial law law anyway between 1941 and 1944, meaning internment was unnecessary)
