My guess is it was built by semi-skilled slave workers, wouldn’t conform to European safety standards and when it fails and someone gets their foot severed clean off, they better have good insurance otherwise it’s debtor’s prison for them

Slowly. I got on not really looking then suddenly realised I was moving really slowly before looking around and realised I was curving. Slightly wider than a normal escalator but nothing “outside” the normal width
