they can go up to 72km/h,. that one is just jogging.

So they’re the Ferrari of dogs.
All they need is a retractable woof.

I thought my pit/lab mix was fast & she was. No bike could out run her. Her energy was so high & I lived on a long country road in Florida & for exercise she would love for me to take the truck out on the street & let her run beside me, always easily 40mph for blocks, blew my mind.

They’ll do that for like 90 seconds then be docile and sleepy for 6 hours.

The fastest dog in the world is the one chasing you.

That’s 37 mph, wild.

What’s funny is that dog is just jogging, it’s still got a whole lot of pedal left to press.

Most dogs are bred for hunting.
In the animal world you are either big and dangerous, small to hide or fast.

We had a beagle and my uncle had a greyhound. When we would visit and bring our dog they would both run around the backyard. Our dog would look like he was walking while my uncles dog would do laps around the backyard.
They are faster than greyhounds. They are considered sighthounds.
They are also one of the fastest distance running animals. Slightly behind pronghorns in distance/speed.

i had a dog who we believe was greyhound/border collie. she could run faster than every other dog at the dogpark except for the greyhounds, but she could keep it up for hours.

I like how greyhounds aren’t snooty at all about being significantly faster than everyone else. If anything they’ll slow down a bit, take a longer path, or just get bored and tear off on their own. Really something you have to experience.

And then there’s the bus…..
It’s their somewhat unique [Double Suspension Gallop](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canine_gait) gait. Same as a cheetah.
My parents used to have 2 of them. I’d take them to the ball field to run and was always amazed at just how fast they could go.Â
km’s or freedom units?
Yet they can’t catch the rabbit… Well not very often.
Morons recording them on their phones while driving are the dumbest humans in the world
My cousin had a mutt half his size that could do 45mph.
They are the cheetahs of the dogs.
I’ve owned three retirees and they all loved to run, but definitely sprinters.
Weeeeee…..

Have you never heard of a Saluki?
