Mhm, because John was the only person there who thought it would be a good idea. He also forced the entire crew to learn sign language, as if that’s some simple task
You guys will believe anything as long as it’s written text under a picture

It really shows in the movie. The silence was heavy, and having actors who actually understood the nuances of ASL made those emotional scenes feel way more authentic than just learning a few signs for the camera

Who’d he fight? Her?

Does it make sense in the film context?
Cause it does sound stupid, since deaf people should not understand the concept of sound and being quiet.

Did he really need to fight for it tho if he’s the director?

lol I misread as he fought a dead actress to be casted. And was so confused why he would then make sure the cast learned sign language

That’s dedication
Crazy the lengths some actors go to. This little girl trained her life for this role.
John Krasinski has never struck me as anything other than a kind man.
The unabomber?
He, along with his wife, also learned the Morse Code because someone called his wife to lose the baby weight
He wrote the movie who did he have to fight?
