In the ancient era this elephant would have been near invincible, but I gotta wonder why they were still doing this in the late 1500s

Probably expensive as hell to make, and that armor won’t stop a cannon ball that’s for sure

You would think the legs would be armored as well given the elevation grounds troops were probably at compared to the elephant. Or at least some sort of barding around the front legs.

I really hate what we’ve done to the animals. They were a gift to be cherished, instead we abuse them in every conceivable way.

Pretty metal having a war elephant with armor but raising and training these intelligent emotional beasts for war is an ethical problem for me.

    5. What happened to all the Elephant armour owned by the Maharajas and the Princely States that existed until 1947? Weren’t any of them preserved in India?

    6. Imagine being an european that only saw horses on the battlefield watching this charging you. I’d shit in my armor.

Essentially the natural precursor to today’s tank. Even back then, a very dangerous and extremely imposing weapon. It’s a shame that elephants were also used in combat among humans.

That’s impressively cool…even if it stems from historical tragedy

      Thanks for the upload
