    1. I remember back in the day if you forgot your password to a site you could copy the saved password on the login screen and paste it elsewhere to see it. That was always helpful.

Good job on replicating that on super sensitive documents. They can’t even crime right. lmao

    2. I’ve seen this posted several times now, but people keep deleting it so the government doesn’t find out, lol.

    3. I learned this one the hard way over 20 years ago when the software company I worked for at the time included screenshots of our application with field values redacted. Or at least we thought they were redacted.

You would think government officials in the year 2025 would know better.

    4. This has to be bull. There’s no way. We’re cooked. This does in fact explain so much about the times we’re living in though.

    5. When Paul Manafort got caught my understanding was the redacted documents just had black boxes drawn over it.

Adobe acrobat will fully redact documents, stripping the text from the document entirely. It’s… Not hard

But damn people are so fucking bad at computers.

    6. Time to just start making shit up! The only way they could disprove it is by releasing the unredacted versions.

    7. Oh god…. Please let this be true

This would be the second time they have fucked up trying to redact documents and posting them….. which really just says it all about this administration

    8. It’s comical how few people know how to properly redact a pdf, it’s so easy! But a black box isn’t all there is too it people! Lmao

I feel like this happened recently where classified information was leaked because someone didn’t know how to use Adobe.

    10. If nothing else, this might get 300k people to Google “Epstein files redacted” of some sort. Kinda smart.

    11. The ol’ “black highlight” instead of using an actual redaction tool. Bane of junior lawyers everywhere!

Edit: This actually happens pretty frequently and is just a sign of poor training. But it might be malicious compliance by someone at DoJ, which is fun to think about!

I mean you kind of start to believe they are going to construct their own downfall by sheer stupidity and incompetence

I wish they would save tech this to we get a good amount of redocumented info so its not fixed for anything important

    14. or is it a “feature” by an undercover whistle blower who knew people were smarter than that…

    15. Man, gotta say, weirdly, this actually makes this Monday so much better than it’s been otherwise

I’m just going to wait until people start releasing the unredacted files before getting excited about this. The Trump photo and several others got removed after being discovered so I don’t doubt that this error will get corrected.
