This was our last great chance at a thaw. Amazingly sad when compared to today’s relationship.
My favorite quote was: “Politicians are the same all over. They promise to build bridges even when there are no rivers.” Lost his first wife right at the end of revolution. Sad to think that he was ousted by someone like Brezhnev.
