A novelty Christmas song, often attributed to Lael Calloway, and describe a child's humorous plight of having the measles right before Christmas and asking Santa if he's had them too, so he won't catch them and miss delivering presents.
Includes the verses –
"My dear child the doctor says you have the measles / so you'll have to stay in bed during Christmas" and "dear Santa, have you had the measles / the kind I came down with today".
