I have a friend who was born in a third world country and had polio as a toddler. She is unable to walk and has to use a wheelchair.
Also, I have cerebral palsy and I’ve plenty of older adults asking if I had polio.
It’s not just about dying (although that is certainly one aspect) it’s about saving people from a lifetime of disability.
