Oddly, this jarred my memory thingy. Back in the day I was told by a mentor to absolutely go to the Christmas party, shake hands, have a few drinks, tell or listen to a few jokes, and leave exactly 1 hour after you show up. Set a watch, have your spouse call you, anything you could do to hit that 1 hour mark. That advice never failed me.
