My issue with “centerists” these days

Every single thing that works the not such a lather just comes from amplifying some random crazy internet post that may or may not even be by an actual leftist. And they lap it up each and every time.

    2. Rogan is the pinnacle of the “I’m just asking questions” crowd. Aka “platforming terrible people and ideas”.

    3. That side-by-side of Trump and Obama tweeting about the Reiners’ murder is as concise a takedown of bothsidesism as you can find.

Anyone who says “both sides” in today’s environment is blatantly excusing themselves from any accountability over the fact that they’re going to continue to vote Republican, despite having the reason and capacity to recognize it’s morally inexcusable.

    4. Rogan: “Have you heard this Biden quote? He said in the Revolutionary War “Our army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do, and at Fort McHenry, under the rockets’ red glare, it had nothing but victory” Dude’s senile. Dude’s crazy. He needs to be put down like a dog. How can anyone vote for him?”

Rogan’s Producer: “Uh, Joe? Biden was just quoting Trump’s words verbatim to mock him. Trump actually said that.”

Rogan: “…well, it was out of context and I’m sure he just misspoke and it’s an understandable mistake.”

    5. Joe: “Did you see where Biden said we should attack the airports in the revolution. That man is completely unfit, how could anyone vote for a guy who says something like that?”

Offscreen: “Actually Trump said it, Biden was mocking him.”

Joe: *checks source* “Ohh well, yeah sometimes Don makes jokes like that, see this is why you need to do research, the media is so dishonest!”

      100% REAL FUCKING SEGMENT

    6. If you call yourself a centrist it just tells me that you just want to jump on the bandwagon for whichever side is the popular. I register as an independent because I agree with issues on both sides but calling yourself a centrist just sounds a nomad to me!

    7. Anybody that is right leaning and likes the brosphere podcast scene and thinks it’s so real should watch the Navalny documentary. They show the same exact machine they use here working in Russia. I don’t speak Russian, but I can tell what they are saying because it’s the same people and the same pacing between “shock” “explanation” and “laughter.”

    8. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a “centerist” (sic) Democrat say anything remotely like this.

I have, however, seen plenty of non-MAGA republicans who are embarrassed to have voted for Trump say this.

    9. Both sides do have crazies not fit to rule the country….. the right currently has those as the mainstream controlling body of their political party.

    10. Joe Rogan is not a centrist… besides the fact he’s straight up right wing, the “both sides the same crowd” aren’t Centrists, they’re Undecideds.

Centrists, at least the way the word actually means, is somebody whose political ideals don’t align with the extremes of either side of the political spectrum.

If Joe Rogan was a Centrist, he’d have loved this past and current generation of Democrats, because they’re all pretty much perfectly Centrist.

And this isn’t an Overton Window thing, it’s just a basic issue of defining words correctly.
