Canadian version lowkey looks like a rip-off/copy cat but that’s only because I can’t see the Nestle brand anywhere on the packagingÂ
Edit: I meant the US one

Shrinkflation is affecting the USA? They stole 3 grams in the American version.

I know we should all hate American “chocolate” but we should all hate Nestle more.
USA is still made by Hersherys, right?

Doesn’t make sense, USA food packaging for its own ppl tends to be the worst ones in the developed world, and added the least healthy amount of stuff… All because healthy consumers can’t earn the corps enough money

As someone who tried both Nestle and Hershey KitKats, the Nestle one tastes waaay better it’s like they’re different products.

It’s been a few years since I’ve done multinational standard Kit-Kat taste tests between various countries. When it comes to flavor, US Kit-Kats have always come in last place by a significant margin. They were just bad compared to Canada, UK, Japan, and France. And yes, all were uniquely different.
So the US Kit-Kats being smaller doesn’t seem like that much of a bad thing.

Palm kernel oil in the American one. Seriously, it’s chocolate.

Here’s an interesting story.
A company called Roundtree used to make KitKats in the UK, however Roundtree licensed the rights to KitKat to Hershey to be sold in the US.
Nestle bought out Roundtree in 1988 and honored that agreement with Hershey.
That’s why KitKats are made by Nestle everywhere but the US. And that is why the US ones taste like vomit because they use Hersey’s chocolate.
And, IMO, that’s why KitKats are no where near as popular in the US than everywhere else in the word.

May contain peanuts in the American version. That’s actually good to know since KitKat is safe for my allergy kid in Canada.

The American one is inedible. It has a nasty bitter flavor and leaves a terrible aftertaste. Would not recommend.
