"A Million Miles on Firestone Tires without an accident!" Firestone Gum-Dipped Tires ad printed as page 11 of Good Housekeeping, May 1936.

Extra Info- Ab Jenkins was a celebrity racer and pioneer of Land Speed Racing, who was estimated to have driven around 2 million miles with very few mishaps- the claim 1 million miles in Firestone Tires may be true, but I think you'd have a hard time confirming it for sure. Another interesting thing, Ab Jenkins got a 1933 model U tractor CRANKING at 67 mph on a public road, which was absolutely wild especially for the time, considering tractors only reached double digits the year before. He described it as "riding atop a frightened bison".

    1. Looking at it through modem eyes, the phrase “gum dipped” doesn’t inspire confidence. (I know what the ad copy means, though.)

OP, thanks for the info about the tractor. That must have been a terrifying experience for that poor guy!
