December 18, 2025In 1898, Morgan Robertson published Futility, a novella in which the Titan, an ocean liner described as “unsinkable”, sinks after hitting an iceberg in the North Atlantic. There are too few lifeboats aboard, and most of the passengers drown. 14 years later, the Titanic sank in similar circumstances.
