Has a meme ever led you to look up an obscure historical event?

    1. This is me. I’m not an big history guy, so I usually don’t know what is going on in the meme. I will usually learn just enough to understand the joke, then give an upvote and move on. If I recognize the meme, or already understand it, I usually just pass on by, unless it’s actually funny.

More often than not I hear some fascinating new things about a topic I was already familiar with, go read about it, learn OP vastly exaggerated the situation and come back and complain.

Then I invariably get the “it’s just a meme bro” response.

    3. Not a meme but a lot of people know about the Three Kingdoms era but know less about what happened afterward. Particularly War of the Eight Princes since there are barely any media coverage of that event.

So the amount of historical research about that time (as small as it was) appeared when Total War Eight Princes DLC revealed was nice to see.
