The problem is healthcare in the United States is a for profit industry. I believe the average annual cost for a family of four is $27,000 to $32,000 USD.

I happen to have family in healthcare. So will speak first hand. The problem with American health care is Americans. Your belly hurts, you can go see a gastroenterologist today. That doctor might say you need a scope. Can back tomorrow. In Canada that scope will not happen. You will have to wait a few weeks.
You need gal bladder removal surgery. No problem, you will have it done in last than a week. In Canada you must weight.
As long as Americans are willing to wait.

Although his assessment of Canadian healthcare isn’t quite 100% accurate here, the fact that we don’t have to lose our house in order to receive care should be enough to make Americans realize that their healthcare system is truly a corporate cruelty system.

    4. I remember looking at the details of my annual checkup and what the insurance was billed. I was shocked when I saw “tobacco screening: $700” because I don’t remember the doctor performing any test for it. I asked. You know what the screening was? It was the doctor asking “do you smoke?”

    5. As an American I feel trapped. I want to move to another country that has healthcare super bad but I can’t afford it. I’ll just be here hoping I never get sick until I figure it out.

One point that rarely gets bought up is that the huge cost of end of life medical care hampers the transfer of generational wealth and harms social mobility

    7. I know several people who received a cancer diagnosis and started treated within a week of the news. They also didn’t lost their homes. Wild huh?

    8. It’s almost as if …. Getting sick is inevitable … But our politicians know that so they wrote in That they get to keep THEIR healthcare…. But not the rest of us

    9. Correction:

The people who say “sink or f*cking swim pal” are the republican voters who are suffering because they have no healthcare.

Republican voters are the absolute dumbest people on the planet because, unlike countries who can’t afford education, healthcare or food, we got it all but we are telling rich people to distribute it for us.
