I took a venemoys snake handling course, where the expert tld us that venom is developed for hunting and not for defence. It takes an enormous amount of energy for a snake to generate venom , which they need to catch their next meal. They need that next meal to get energy so as to generate more venom. As such they will do whatever they can to avoid needing to use their venom for defence.
What is sad is thst this young man milked the snake of all their venom – and unless they were going to feed the snake we can safely say that the snake would have to wait a long time before it would eat again.
