History was actually one of the few classes I enjoyed and did relatively well in

For me, it was literature. I used to finish reading the book quickly but I got reprimanded a lot, so I don’t read a lot anymore

I despised history in school. It mostly consisted of garbage like WW1 & WW2, the Cold War, and the British empire, with some focus on early modern European history like the reformation. Absolute torture.
No Bronze Age, no rise of Persia, Alexander, plato & Aristotle, rise of Islam, the Umayyad or Abbasid Caliphates or golden ages, Al-andalus, Berber empires like the Almoravids and the Almohads, the fall of Granada, the fall of Constantinople, nothing.
History stops being interesting to me after 1800, and early modern European history is an utter borefest. And it purely consisted of that.

I didn’t. Every time I was given a history textbook, I read all of it in one day.

I actually really enjoyed my history classes. But I was already a history nerd, so it tracks.

History is just listening to stories for an hour a day, why would I hate that?
