So the interviewer thinks it’s crazy that Andreessen picked a colour that stands out?
What other reason would there be lol?

It’s interesting to hear him talk about it, but to be honest, it’s pretty much the answer I expected

eThe interviewer is asking as if it would be something that changed the world.. its just a color to make it stand out

That “black on white” problem was the reason there was “green on black” or “amber on black” screens popular at that time.

Back BEFORE that, Acorn computers started out white text on black 🤷♂️

Well… it is default the blue in 8-bit world but you can change it. It is a style or theme of your picking.

I’m a frontend, and I can feel the interviewer’s struggle to make this interesting. Almost all stories of why things are like they are is just “because I liked it at the time” lmao
The interviewer is like “that’s crazy!” … it’s literally the most mundane reason why they are blue, it almost sounds sarcastic

I have nothing against blue per se.
But **the problem is he made purple the links you already visited**, which doesn’t look different enough from blue. So it’s hard to tell whether you’ve already explored a link on a web page.

By default, web page backgrounds should have been black, not white. Would have saved the world a lot of eyestrain.

Kinda cool that some got first mover advantage and the rest have to roll with it. I mean [blue](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue) is cool tho but won’t it be cooler if we can had a choice
