Curiously enough, the Byzantine court historians linked Achilles to the territory of present-day Ukraine. The book “*Royal Scythia, Greece, Kyiv Rus*” has insights about it.

Interesting. Slowly the right picture of source of lots of ancient stories is emerging which is extremely stressful for eurocentric people, I guess.

The gorytos (bow-and-arrow holder) discovered in one of the Scythian Royal Kurgans in Ukraine puzzled the scholars who analyzed it. Although it dates to the **4th century B.C.**, its overlay has representations of the key scenes of the [*Achilleid*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Achilleid)[Â ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Achilleid)[*epic*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Achilleid)[ ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Achilleid)that would be written only in the **1st century A.D**.
