This is why wooden and silicone are better choices. All that scraping puts enamel fragments (or whatever that coating is) in your food.

Once you’ve done so much damage to the ceramic coating you ought to consider this mug at the end of it’s life. That coating prevents bacteria from growing in the ceramic and it’s GONE.

Just a warning, bacteria gets in those little grooves and is really difficult to clean. You may be growing some mold in that cup without knowing.
