Seems pretty obvious that Sen Kelly and the like got a briefing of this operation, saw it was clearly an illegal order but couldn’t divulge details, and made the video knowing their vid would garner right-winger outrage only to be proven correct shortly thereafter. Excellent political maneuver and perfect way to shed light on a likely war crime.

Here’s the thing, they have to prove its unlawful or face consequences like loss of rank, pay, jail or court-martial. For most of these grunts, its easier just to follow the orders, especially when they are looking at things from behind a screen.
We can’t rely on the military to do the right thing.
