A natural gas seepage in Haripur, Sylhet, has been continuously burning for nearly seven decades, following a historic drilling accident in 1955 by Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL). The explosion created a crater, causing gas to escape through surrounding faults. The escaping gas ignites upon contact with air, producing a persistent flame visible regardless of weather.

Located 25 kilometers from Sylhet city, the site has become a unique attraction.
