    1. Looks East German to me. So not Soviet exactly. But in the Warsaw Pact. And obviously the space station’s Soviet.

    2. But why is it not round ? And why is the central axis not central ? I think the painter did not quite know about space stations – see the man in front of the hydroponics. He should either float if the station is not spinning, or have his feet to the outside wall of the spinning station.

      Later: I should have read the text. It says something about the position of the feet of the persons implying that the station is nit rotating. Or that something was hidden from the painter because of security..
