She took my plan to run for office and get a pension and health insurance for life. I’m left wing though and I wanted Liz Truss’ deal lol

I think the pension thing is not something to be focused on. She’s made over $25 million while in office. Her net worth was $700,000 when she filed initially. Her pension is about $8700/yr after 5 years.

ANY federal employee who works for five years get a pension, but there are three things about it that you may not know. The pension is 1% of their high-three pay ($174,000 annually for a member of Congress) and the pension does not begin to be paid out until the recipient is 62. In her case, it will be $8700 per year, just over $700 per month. She paid 4.4% of her salary to get this pension. The total federal contribution to the pension plan used to be 11.6% of payroll (0.8 % from employee and 10.8% from government), but it has increased to a total of 18.4% over the years. It is possible to retire with at least 30 years of service at the minimum retirement age or at 20 with at least 20 years of service.
Unless the retiree is retiring immediately at age 62 or older, they lose their ability to pay the subsidized health insurance rate that federal employees pay, which is roughly a 70% discount. This discount exists only because of a letter that Obama had the Office of Personnel Management issue which John Boehner was Speaker of the House.
I realize that this is a case where facts may not matter.

Let’s see, Greene has done:
Got hired in 2021 and then harassed school shooting survivors
Complained about solar energy cause she likes to read at night
Claimed Dems could control the weather and “let” hurricane Helene cross over red territory
Brought large poster boards showing hunter Biden dick into Congress (and probably still has them sitting in her closet somewhere)
So all in all she had a super fucking easy time. She *was* up for re-election but after going against the right side morals she’s been getting threats and decided she’s too much of a pansy to deal with it and can live with getting her pension for the rest of her life for doing *checks notes*, oh right, nothing of importance.

The legitimate payment of federal politicians is not the problem. It’s good that they get an early and well-funded pension. It’s good that they have a large legal salary.
The easiest way to increase corruption would be to lower the legal money they make. I honestly think that we should raise the pay for the position.

I have a feeling that pension is nothing compared to the other fortune they made

You can insider trade legally you get a pension at 5 years and free socialized healthcare for life all while only working about 150 days a year and if there’s a shutdown you still get paid to sit at home while air traffic controllers and soldiers have to go to work without pay. No wonder the job attracts so many grifters.
