I was bit by the Hawaiian centipede that looks similar to this guy and I would not recommend casually handling one.

That‘s gonna be a no from me, dog. Ancient, brainless, venomous, viscous predators are not meant to be handled.

      Do they bite?

I was bitten by a juvenile scorpion once, it’s not lethal but enough to paralyze my foot for an hour

      Jesus the pain was beyond

    4. It’s really not recommended that you handle any centipede species, let alone venomous ones. A fall you even small drop can be lethal to them, and handling stresses them out unnecessarily. While a bite from S. gigantea wouldn’t be deadly, it certainly wouldn’t be a pleasant 24 hours at the minimum, and you never know if you are allergic until your throat is swelling up.
