I don’t know about that. Mamdani sounded pretty firm on his ideas and Trump made reference to big disagreements, but what I got out of the conference is that Mamdani sold himself and focused the conversation on things that both of them can agree on, namely affordability and public safety. Trump also mentioned that Mamdani spoke to some extent on FDR which Trump could respect. As surprising as this was, I didn’t see Mamdani bending in any way, rather I think he may have just displayed his prowess to us all

Y’all are as thick as oatmeal if you think this is because Mamdani bent an inch. Trump has always shown a tendency to be easily swayed by the last person he spoke to. He’ll sit down with Stephen Miller later and start calling Mamdani a threat to the nation again in no time.
Mamdani has also shown incredible conversational judo, even flipping Fox News interviewers into agreeing with him and praising him.
This is a simple case of Trump being an easily manipulated doddering old man.

It’s important to remember that Trump doesn’t actually care about policy. As long as people are ‘nice’ to him, he’s friendly. And Mamdani knows Trump is crazy enough to try cutting all federal program funding in NYC if he’s too adversarial. So he held his nose and made nice for 15 minutes for the sake of his city without bending on any actual policy.

That meeting showed one of two things; Either Trump was instructed by his PR people to seem all ‘chummy’ with Mamdani allowing for this photo op- causing those who support Mamdani, like you, to doubt themselves about him. Or, equally likely, Mamdani is simply charismatic and savvy enough to illicit this kind of visual response from trump, helped by the fact that trump is as pliable as slightly warm butter if you say the right things.
Either way, by tomorrow, trump will have probably changed his tune based on whoever he last spoke to, like he always does.

I’d recommend reposting that anywhere MAGA can be found from now til Christmas. This could easily be as big of a blow as damning evidence from the Epstein release.
