They did say the war department label was more of a nickname than the legal name (which they can’t change without Congress)
That’s because for legal purposes (such as this sign), it’s still the Department of Defense. Department/Secretary of War were approved as alternate names/titles. Legally changing them requires an act of Congress.
A sign next to it should read “All US warmongering gringos should learn to read a map before marking sovereign Mexican territory as their own. Also your mothers were hamsters and your fathers smelt of elderberries!
The official name is still Department of Defense. Only a congressional act can change it. Tangerine Tyrant and DUI Dumbass are illegally calling it something else.
