This really annoys the heck out of me as a 28 year old woman. I don’t want gifts for Christmas or my birthday, please just gift me with your presence. Saying something along those lines never works though and it mildly irks me.

When I say this, I mean it. I don’t celebrate the Capitalism Holidaysâ„¢ because receiving gifts then seems incredibly disingenuous. Send me a meme when it reminds you of me, don’t give me a birthday gift or Christmas present because it’s expected. I have some close friends who don’t even know when my birthday is, and it’s by design.
