my cat knocked over my pen once and upon picking it up it stopped working, i told my friend that the pen wants revenge so i must bop the cat on the nose with the pen for it to start working again.
somehow it worked i surprised myself too

I really hate it when the autistic coworker finds the most time consuming and inefficient way to do something but doesn’t take any advice because ‘hey it worked’
Like yes congrats Larry you beat a nail in using only a screwdriver handle even though I said it wouldn’t work, but please get the hammer next time

I’ve had a million times where someone is trying to get something back in the box, they sit there turning it for ages and I walk up, they say “No, no, you cant just slide it in like that, that thing blocks it. It doesn’t go… how’d you that?” as I turn it like 3 degrees and it fits right in

I think this refers to how some people with autism have strong beliefs in the right/wrong ways of doing things (because routine is a bit part of autism). This can either be a super efficient way, or other times… not, and it’s overinflated.
I do this, I think my way is right and squirm in my seat when someone else does it a different way then realise ‘oh that actually worked really well and is better than my way’. It’s hard to distinguish what’s actually efficient and what’s just ‘my’ right way.
