I tracked my friend group chat for 11 months of 2025. Turns out we're really good at talking about plans but terrible at making them happen.

    The numbers:
    – Discussion messages: 4,847
    – Plans that happened: 47
    – Success rate: 0.97%

May was peak optimism. We sent over 600 messages that month but only confirmed 6 meetups. September tells the same story – huge spike in chat activity, barely any follow-through.

July and August were quiet. Everyone was either busy or pretending to be busy.

November is just sad. We went back to planning mode but gave up on confirming anything.

Now we are planning to go out to celebrate year ending and new year. Let's see if we can execute those plans.

    1. The fact that you started charting it implies this group has been doing this for longer than a year, and you think it’s so bad it warrants metrics.

I pray none of you leads a team when lives are at stake.

    2. I feel like going 2D (each value is a square/circle, and the area of each object corresponds to the numerical value) would make it easier to visualize the extreme difference.
