wtf guy casually stands with his back to spinning wheel of molten steel that could loop around him

    2. I worked in a rolling mill for many years, this stuff is unpredictable. These guys have complacency to an art. At least one guy had a hard hat!

    3. How does the roll not melt together to itself in one blobby inconsistent ring? Or is that the intent?

Seems like there at least needs to be more safety barriers here. Maybe something preventing them from stepping over the looping ribbon of steel that could potentially catch their foot or clothing and pull them in to the leg toaster/crusher.

Or at the very least *drilling it into them at every meeting* *not to step over the fucking thing*

I’ve seen wrecks at mills that could kill you. These men are way too comfortable with it

    6. Its almost like a pissing contest to see who’s the least bothered by the fact that they could be seriously injured by it at any given moment.

Like if any one of them suddenly decided to be cautious the others would likely ridicule and shame them.

The dudes boots that are untied next to something spinning is a new level of carelessness, I’m pretty sure an Osha handbook just set on fire somewhere

    8. I mean, they have shoes on…..and one guy even has a hard hat lol.

going in the right direction at least.

Not a single safety sandal in sight. We have ourselves a high end professional operation going here bois

    10. The guy not even doing the work has on a hardhat!!! Wtf! No PPE, no eye shields, no gloves, no BOOTS. Death or loss of limb incoming…

    11. As a Navy veteran who was taught repeatedly to never walk over the lines, this made me wince IRL.

This is what western workers are competing with and why it should be extremely illegal to do business with these operations in a supply chain. No regard for safety. No union. No workers comp. Of course it’s cheap. At the expense of real humans.
