In all honesty majority of fast food joints need to stop charging people with high prices. Bring back lower prices and the dollar menu

    1. Wendy’s food has been godawful for the last few years. Their burger’s patties have turned into a weird beef mush and their fries are not anything to write home about. Worst is their nuggets…Tyson frozen nuggets are better.

    2. For the past 10 years there’s been a trend of tech companies, video game companies in particular, just absolutely obliterating their workforce to boost numbers. The idea being that killing jobs lowers expenses and makes already obscene profits look that much better.

That logic is now being applied to fucking hamburgers.

      Absolute fucking clown shit.

    3. Wendy’s tried to implement “dynamic pricing” which would fluctuate prices to make them more expensive during peak hours. Obviously that was met with insane backlash and they pretended that wasn’t what they wanted to do, but holy shit.

Side note: I still love Wendy’s

Smaller portions, higher prices, worse quality and bad service….nah that can’t be it…let’s just change the decor and that will right the ship.

    5. I went to Wendy’s pretty regularly even though it wasn’t really a good value the coupons on the app kept me coming because I’m chubby and lazy.

Then they lowered their $2 off a meal to $1 off a meal, and increased the rewards points needed to get free food. It wasn’t really worth it before but like damn.

Also their AI ordering is awful and will break whenever I ask for no ice in a drink

A number 1 is like $12 now. I can buy a pound of ground beef and frozen fries and save myself $6.

    7. Going to amazing ramen joints with $10 lunch specials is where it’s at.

Or any place with happy hour and specials

    8. This is a sign that they will be gone forever, or they will completely change, but the former is more likely.

    9. Seems like the last few months Taco Bell has increased it’s prices to mirror all the other FF places. I was upset to see the total for all the food I got was around $25,

I remember when jr bacon cheeseburger was $1

Now it’s over $3 in my area and the quality has decreased

      300% in 10-15 yrs

These fastfood spots can close all the stores they want, it’s only a temporary band aid for the CEOs to collect a couple more years of compensation but the consumers are never coming back

    11. Anything except provide better food/service. Every single Wendy’s in my area has gone downhill so much in the last five or so years.

expecting things to go down again is futile. the dollar menu was a great flash in the pan we all got to enjoy – but as someone else has said, i am not sure i want whatever they have to offer for a dollar anymore.

really, my one contention is that if prices go up, then so should the wages of those making the food. that, so far, has not tracked. i get that the cost of everything is going up, businesses are not immune to this – but goddamn pay these folks a better wage.

    13. never forget, wendy tried to dynamic price us, never trust that bitch wendy again, no matter how good those frostys or spicy nugs are

I feel like not too long ago they were “not” planning on running flexible pricing where they decide how much to charge you basically as the day changes. This on the heels of slowly but consistently raising the prices and reducing portions to see how far they could take it.

Large fast food corporations have been doing a lot of data gathering and they are forging a new business model as we speak.

The prices are never going down, don’t hold your breath. Most you can hope for is deals and bundles

Tbh aren’t a lot of those locations put up to drive out competition? Or am I thinking of Walmart

    17. Fr like you expect me to pay restaurant prices for artery-clogging food that barely passes FDA standards? They got me fucked up

    18. People complaining about the lack of a dollar menu have never seen the Wendy’s $5 biggie bag. It’s honestly a pretty good deal, you get small fries, drink, 4 nugs, and the choice of a Jr cheese burger or chicken sandwich (or maybe something else too?). I don’t go to Wendy’s often but I usually get it and it’s a pretty good deal. Not a ton of food but its enough for me for lunch.

    19. I cannot remember the last time I had Wendy’s. I remember when Wendy’s used to wrap their burgers in tinfoil.

    20. Fast Foods purpose used to be convenience, low prices, and FAST. Today it is none of those things. Besides health reasons, that’s why I stopped eating it.

    21. Easy – bring back the old fries and stop making it so I have to take out a loan to eat there. It was my favorite. Now I haven’t been back in years.

Not only have fast food prices double or even triple for some items over the last 10-15 years but they also have decreased the portion sizes and almost all of them are using cheaper less quality ingredients, more processed bs replacing fresh items. Fast Food industry is bs in the US. They charge us more or the same price for worse and less food than they get at locations in other countries.

    23. People ate fast food because it was cheap and fast now it’s neither of those things. If I want a 12 dollar burger I’m going somewhere better than Wendy’s.

    24. This is about executive compensation. The company has to be more profitable to pay out bigger bonuses.

    25. The REAL issue with FF (not just Wendy’s) is that the service is no longer… “fast food”. (Pun intended)

If I’m intentionally eating ”trash food”, (as interpreted by the world) then it better be quick, but it just hasn’t been in a long time. I shouldn’t be able to sit down at a diner/restaurant, and get food faster, while also paying close to the same (exacerbation)…something needs to drastically change.

    26. TripleDoubleFart on

I at least understood fast food before. I never ate it, but I understood that it’s appealing because it was cheap.

Now it’s crap and it’s not cheap.. so.. who is still buying it?

    27. TBF Wendys still has decent prices on some items and better quality compared to fake slop like McDs

    28. External-Bonus-4444 on

They’ve already maxed out the profit they can grab by lowering the food quality down to “flavored cardboard”, and underpaying+understaffing their stores down to almost inoperable levels. This is all fast food chains.

    29. Travelin_Soulja on

The only reason I ever go to any fast food restaurant is convenience. Is it on the way? Is it on the right side? Because I’m not crossing four lanes to get to it.

Making your restaurant even harder to get to because it has fewer locations guarantees I will be going there even less, if at all.

    30. A lot of local people are going to lose their jobs, but Wendy’s is a for profit business.

And all of those franchise owners are going to be gone also.

    31. How? A dollar ain’t what it used to be. I wouldn’t eat a burger that only cost $1 in 2025. What kind of substandard beef does it take to hit that price point?
